In this tutorial I will tell you how to make a cushion, a very simple and fast way! Accompanied with some of my illustrations, so please don't steal!!
You will need;
- A ruler
- Some thread
- A needle
- Some material (or old clothes)
- Scissors
- Stuffing (you can buy full cushion stuffing or loose)
Measure out your template on your chosen material (make it a little larger than you want) and cut out. Remember, you will need two of these, one for each side.
Place the two sheets on top of each other (with the side you want to be visible facing each other, so it is inside out) and being stitching around it, leaving a little border around it. When you have a stitched 3 sides you have different options on how you stuff and finish.
Start by flipping it, so it is no longer inside out. Then you can either;
- Stuff it then sew in a line.
- Sew it up till it is around 3/4 sewn and then put the stuffing in, and continue to sew.
- Attach buttons or a zip fastening.
And there you are! A very easy and fast way to make a cushion, and nice way to reuse old clothes, or fabric!
