{Haul} - 2014 Books bought so far

I am really trying to cut down buying books, for many reasons, but none more than;

  • I have way too many books, and not enough space.
  • I have way too many unread books already.
  • I should be saving money, rather than splurging.
I won't lie, I would say I have been pretty good the last few weeks, I've managed to not buy any, but since I set up this blog, I wanted to do a book haul, but without any new books, that's a tad hard! So, I decided to do a collective 2014 books bought so far haul! Hope you enjoy, and tell me if you have read any and what you thought of them!

The first book I got was 'The Times Concise History of the World' which was down from £30 to £6! So it was hard to say no to, especially since I love history. I've not really had a chance to look through this,  but I do know for a fact that I will enjoy it.

The second book I bought, 'Wonders of the Solar System' was also on sale in WHSmith, down from £25 to just £5, and I already have a soft spot for both physics and Prof. Brian Cox, so it was a must buy! I've only really skimmed through this, and the pictures in it are beautiful, and it has some really interesting facts throughout!

I am actually horrified, ashamed embarrassed to admit that I have never read The Lord of the Rings books. I am obsessed with the films, but I have just never really been in the mood to read the books, I was always a little scared because I head it can be hard to get into, and I really don't want to not like it, but i braved up, bought the set and I am determined to read them all!

 1. I bought Stephen King's 'Under the Dome' mostly because I felt stupid not having read a King book before, when just about everyone on the planet has I seen the show a couple of times and likes the story and the concept, but I kept missing it when it was on, so I decided to pick up the book. Though it is a rather hefty read, and I have no idea when I will have the time to read it!
2. 'This Book will make you Think' is a pretty attention grabbing title, so I just had to have it, I love little quirky books that not everyone would have, and this fits the brief. Basically it is a book with philosophical quotes in, and the are explained in later pages, and guess what... the book actually MAKES YOU THINK! Who would have thought it!?
3. 'Room' is a very well know book, so there is no real need to explain it, again, I love the idea of it, and would love to know how the author portrayed it. Also, this cover was too nice to leave on the book shelf.

All of these book bundles where from WHSmith, at very low prices so I had to get them...
1. I am in love with the Bridget Jones' Diary films, I can't imagine any girl not relating! But again, I had never picked up the books. But with the release of the new one, and all the controversy surrounding sweet Mr Darcy, I finally got round to buying them.
2.The 'Noughts and Crosses' series was one of the first series of books I ever read, and I loved them, I loved how different they were from anything I had ever read. I really want to re=read them all this year, but my last collection was rather tatty and falling apart, so a new set was needed.
3.These books were part of a book bundle by WHSmith, that was 10 dark fantasy books for £7.99 (ususally £10, but they were on offer) you can buy a number of different bundles on their website, but they are totally random with what books you get. I can't complain much about it because it was so cheap, but the did send out some books that were like the later books of a certain series, so that was a bit useless.

1. I am constantly hearing about this series!! But whenever I am out I never see the book, or when i shop online there was always other books I would want ahead of this one, but I finally bit the bullet and got it from amazon. I am really excited to start it, but don't want to at the moment, as I am reading other series, and I don't want too many going at the same time.
2.This cover...it's just...wow. It is so pretty! I've seen they have a new cover out now, which I won't lie, I actually hate, and am so glad I got this book when I did. I don't know an awful lot about this book, but kind of got it on a whim because I had heard of it, and of course...that cover!
3.'Anna Dressed in Blood' we all know what it's about, I'm just the last person to get around to reading it.
4.I hadn't seen anything about 'The Rosie Project' until after I bought it. I have a feeling this is going to be such a sweet book, and hopefully easy to read through, I also like the simplistic style of the cover, and in the inside it's a neon green...cool, eh?

1. NO DESCRIPTION NEEDED! I am soooooo excited to read this! But I had no clue it was part of a series, as the 2nd book only came out a week after I bought this, so again I'm putting it off till i have time to read more series'.
2.This was the first King book I ever bought...and still haven't read. I feel guilty. Anyway, this is a mystery type novel, which I don't tend to read a lot, but I've heard good things from my friends, so I had to pick it up.
3.I bought this before I heard anything about it so indie. And and guess what...it's part of a series!! I really need to get more stand alone books...

1. 'My Life Next Door' is supposed to be the ULTIMATE contemporary novel...I'm not loving it so far. I'm 100 and something pages in, and I am soooooo bored with it. I normally like contemp. novels, but I'm just not into this, thought it may be because the book I read before this was totally different and I loved it.
2.I had heard about this a few times, again I don't know much about it, but it says if you likes TFIOS, you'll like this, so I had to buy it... I have a problem, ok.
3. I have never seen the film version of this, and I read this in one sitting, I write more about it in a review.
4. FANGIRL, JUST THE TITLE IS SO RELATABLE! I have read Eleanor and Park and it is the cutest little book ever, and I can't wait to read this! But there's a sticker mark on it that I can't get off.

LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST...THE FINAL THREE ASOIAF BOOKS!
I have only read the first two of this series, but I love them so much, I'm obsessed with the show, I just want to cry at the beauty of these books don't touch me. I actually can't write more, I'll get carried away and spoil it for you all... JUST GO BUY THEM!!!!
